1.2.12 — Are you there God? It’s me, Melyssa.

Why do people exist?

Whether religious or not, why do you feel that humans exist?

Some may be content just living, thinking that they are in constant pursuit of something that, when attained, is the end of that. Others find an answer to their internal questioning in religion. They consider heaven and hell, or of other lives that they are simply working their way towards. Regardless of your belief, it is a question which is a maze in itself. Personally, I think there HAS to be some greater reason for our existence. If not, are we supposed to just eat, breathe, and interact all day every day? Never reaching any conclusion? Do we just breed to ensure that future people can do the same thing we did and then die, the same way we will? There is absolutely no point making sure you are as rich as possible in every day life, just to die like it never happened. What reasoning would there be for that? Why would that circular uselessness justify lives.

It can’t be possible. There is no point to any of this if there is nothing after. Or if there is no goal attained. Otherwise it would just be an uncomfortable ferris wheel with people getting on, taking their laps around, then jumping off forever. Is that life?

I don’t know if that makes sense, but this is a thought that I have FREQUENTLY.
